Adding music

I'm still trying to learn how to add music to my Journals or my Meez site too.  I'm a bit confused.  Some folks have emailed me suggestions but they are not working for me or I'm not doing it right.  Help!

If anyone knows how to do it let me know!  I'm in stitches with the Meez's I have created!

I'm still trying to learn how to insert music and keep the Meez's with full movie view...it some how transfers into short movies.............bummer!  But hey are a hoot!

Valentine'sDay

Valentine's Day is approaching.  It was also a very special day for me because it was my anniversary.

In the Middle Ages, young men and women drew names from a bowl to see who their valentines would be. They would wear these names on their sleeves for one week. To wear your heart on your sleeve now means that it is easy for other people to know how you are feeling.

Some people used to believe that if a woman saw a robin flying overhead on Valentine's Day, it meant she would marry a sailor. If she saw a sparrow, she would marry a poor man and be very happy. If she saw a goldfinch, she would marry a millionaire.

A love seat is a wide chair. It was first made to seat one woman and her wide dress. Later, the love seat or courting seat had two sections, often in an S-shape. In this way, a couple could sit together -- but not too closely!

If you cut an apple in half and count how many seeds are inside, you will also know how many children you will have.

Wow, people were quite superstitious in those days!

Meez 3D avatar avatars gamesLooking forward to my next Yoga Class on Tuesday!

Doo Whop

The Doo Whop dance held at "Ralph & Rosie's" in Boynton Beach was boring.  So, my girlfriend, Laurie and I left and headed out to City Pub in Pompano Beach.  We had fun, we danced and met a lot of new people.

OMIG, this place allowed smoking.........oh the minute I walked in the door, the smell of smoke hit me right in the face....when you don't smoke anymore...it is a horrible odor.  I had to come home and wash my clothes and I washed my hair in the morning.

What is with this Journal?

I can't view how many people have viewed my Journal....it just has an Red X...yet I do receive comments from my family and friends which I appreciate and I thank you!  If you view on the side of the Journal...it is supposed to tell you how many times your Journal has been viewed.....go figure!  I have sent emails and inquires but no response to date.

Hair Color

Meez 3D avatar avatars gamesI was thrilled with the new beauty shop called "Hair Color Experts"......I did not walk out with black hair.  I'm pleased and I know my son will be pleased when I go back to Boston......he won't have to go through all that time and work to get the black out of my hair!  I love my red hair!!!!!

For the Wine Lover

I just bought this fabulous electric wine bottle opener by Emerson.  I saw a similar opener at a friend's house and have been searching for it ever since.  If you are a wine lover like me, you will love this.  It also comes with a foil cutter which works great!  I found this in Target for $19.99.  The original one I was looking for was silver and made by Oster and the price was $25.00.

Well, I finally became a member of the online dating site.  Oh my, the emails started to pour in and it reminded me of several years ago when I joined Match.com.  I later became bored with sorting out all the Losers from the potential individual I would care to date.....until I gave it a long break.  I don't even know if I want to date anymore.  Dancing, dinner, conversation is nice but I'm definitely not interested in getting married again.  BTW, the online dating site is a totally free site.

This site is nice because they have dances held at nice hotels and social coffee meetings at Starbucks, etc.  I think that is nice, at least you know where the crowd your age is hanging out and gives you the opportunity to join them if you wish.

Well, one funny thing did happen.  My friend, Laurie is also a member and we both live in the same city and searching for men in basically the same age category. Oh my....the same guy is emailing both of us.....hehehehehehhe  The guy put two and two together and I think he was embarrassed about the situation.  Hey, we are all grown adults and understand that this can happen.  Heck, I could be corresponding with a guy friend of his for that matter.

This can become interesting!  I'll keep you posted.

Purchased a Yoga Mat today and I'm ready for my first Beginner's Yoga class starting tomorrow night.

O.K.  I need to take a survey out there.  I'm interested in that new H2O Mop or that Shark Mop

I saw that the H20 Mop looks great for all kinds of floors from tiled to hardwood and also has an attachment and it can be used to steam carpets as well.  That would be great to be rid of any dust mites in carpets.  I'm not sure if the Shark steamer has that feature.

This should be interesting if anyone out there has one of these products.....I don't want to waste my money if they don't work......at my age, I like products that make a clean up process easy and also goes easy on my back and these old bones!  I do like the idea that steaming is safer than using harmful chemicals to wash your floors, etc.

Thanks,

My doctor's comment re: Vytorin

I just got off the phone with my Cardiologist's office and I was informed that my doctor is keeping everyone on Vytorin.  The nurse said the doctor told his patients that the study was not complete and does not warrant changing the prescription for his patients.

I sort of felt uncomfortable about this.....I did call Ira's Discount Pharmacy as they are the cheapest around for scripts.

They told me that the generic Zocor is only $7.36 for 30 pills.  So, that is affordable.

Vytorin is $250 per mo. if you don't have insurance!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I should have been more assertive and requested the change anyway.  I'll wait and call back to make my request.

Anyone else out there on Vytorin?  I would appreciate your thoughts and what your doctor says.

Thanks

Vytorin

I guess I'm not the only patient that is feeling angry about the new Vytorin Report that was reported across all the News stations across America!

How did this drug get approved in the first place?  I'd like to hear from some Cardiologists out there including my own doctor!!!!

So the Rep of the Day mostly designates what prescription maybe written during the course of the day and we patients suffer for lack of research on everyone's part.

If anyone out there has received a comforting response regarding this drug by their doctor, I would like to hear from you.

Can't Sleep Again!

Oh my, it's 3:30 AM and I'm still awake.  I got tired of tossing and turning so I decided to get out of bed and read for a while.  A friend gave me a Zanix with anticipation it would help me catch up on some zzzzzz's and get a good night's sleep for a change......no such luck!

The Writer's Strike is causing me stress not being able to watch my favorite programs...........oh just repeats and more repeats.  Time to go back to the Library for more books to read to occupy my evenings.

The clock is ticking on the digital TV changes!  Yikes, we all have only one year to prepare for the switch from analog broadcasting to digital television.  Another costly expense for most of us that have not purchased those sharp looking high definition digital televisions yet.

It is my understanding that we may have a choice to purchase converter boxes for a fee.  Great....just great....more expenses!  Yeah, my den would look much nicer with a flat screen TV but I currently have other priorities then to replace two perfectly good TVs that are running just fine.

Well, in this world of new technologies constantly changing....we have to pay a price for all the new upgrades.  Some are great and others not necessary other than making a good profit for the inventor.

Did you hear on the News that Congress has set February, 2009 as the deadline to switch.  If you own an analog TV now which mainly relies on an antenna rather than cable or salellite to receive signals, it will be a must for a new purchase of a digital TV.  So, start looking out for sales now.

I have been sneezing non-stop since I came home from Boston!  I hope it's not a cold coming on.  It started the following day upon my return home from Boston after I got through walking in the AM for exercise.

Did you know that people who can talk comfortably during exercise are likely to be working at the appropriate intensity, and that this test is a good way to predict intensity levels, even corresponding to exercise prescriptions (like the target heart rate) from doctors or trainers.  I used to breath heavy while talking and walking with a co-worker on my lunch hour.  But I was a smoker then and don't notice it too much lately.

January 17th marks a full year that I gave up that nasty habit!  Yippee!  That prescription Chantix worked well for me.

Does the picture below look familiar to anyone?????

It is my third grade class.  Thought my classmate friends would get a kick out of this.  Do any of you recognize your little face??????  Too cute!

Starting the New Year

The weary, hoarse-voiced presidential candidates look and sound exhausted while I viewed the News this morning.

It’s that season when residents probably want to unplug their phones and more, as campaigns and candidates try every tack to influence votes. When I returned home from Boston, there were 4 political messages left on my recorder.

Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton won New Hampshire's Democratic primary Tuesday night, pulling out a stunning victory over Sen. Barack Obama in a contest that she had been forecast to lose.  Go Hillary!

I personally think it will be amazing to have a woman as our President!

I'm joining a Beginners Yoga class with my friend, Laurie at the local school.  The price for the classes comes to about $6. per class for 10 weeks.  I selected a beginners class as I tried an intermediate class once with my friend, Palma and I could barely walk afterwards.  I know the stretching is very good for the bones so I want to try again.

Laurie and I are also going to explore and venture out to a new Singles Dance this week at the Marriott Hotel. I'll keep you posted if anything interesting happens at this dance.

Then our weekly dinner with the Widow's Group.....always nice to sit and chat with friends.  We change restaurants weekly and always at a reasonable priced place to jive with our modest budgets.

I love seeing old classmates and good friends.  I'm looking forward to seeing Jeanine once again before she heads back to home.  She is here visiting her daughter and son that live near me.

Hey, Sal ....forgot to ask in my last email.....did you finally get the keys to the new car for your wife?

Great News, Rhonda and Brian will be vacationing in Florida in March.....looking forward to their visit.

O.K. time for my walk around the complex and move these old bones!

Blogging

Trying to deal with jet lag right now.  I spent hours opening up mail that was sitting in my mailbox for nearly 3 weeks, that alone took quite some time to sort....then pay bills....you know the routine when you return home from a vacation.

I thought I'd go online and play with this blogging site again.  This is a new exciting world of the blogosphere for me!!!!!!!  Before you type your first word, you need to take a variety of factors into consideration.  Whether your blog will be private or public.  I prefer private but I received many complaints that my friends could not open up the blog...so I switched it back to public again and now I get strangers leaving comments......Oh my...all good I might add.

Being a blogger involves more than a willingness to learn how to blog.  It also involves a commitment to blogging which is a popular pastime on the Internet.  A bit different than my Newsletters and I'm still playing with all the features which are strange to me yet challenging.

I haven't heard anything from my fans which they like better except for one that likes my old way of Newsletters better.  But the blogging does not need to be downloaded which is a good feature for some of my friends that are not computer savvy.....

However, people are supposed to check into you blog site periodically to see if you have made another entry in your journal which I know my family and friends will not do so I would still have to give a reminder of some sort......Let me hear from you....I would appreciate your input on this.

I still have two people that I send my Newsletters via snail mail....I don't think I can print these blogs out...not sure...............

I haven't exercised the entire time I was away............I ate way too much and foods I normally don't eat on a regular basis when I'm alone.

Time to get back on the Ab Lounger.....I can't get in the pool until the temperatures go up a bit.  Today was in the 60's.

Vacation is over

Both my children provided a wonderful Christmas for me and they took me out to dinner last night to celebrate my birthday!  I'm so thrilled with my new scrapbook.

Years ago, I created a scrapbook for each of my children well before scrapbooking became popular and after the completion, I realized that I no longer had those beautiful photos to look at.  My daughter had them duplicated for me and created a special album that including both Jimmy and Michelle's scrapbook.  I'm thrilled!  That will certainly have a spot on my coffee table and I will browse through it frequently!

The temperatures here in Boston dropped to single digits burrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr!

Thank you to my sister, Teresa and brother-in-law, Angelo for a wonderful day around the kitchen table..............eating and eating.....Oh how I love your homemade ricotta pie!

Thank you to Rhonda and Brian for a lovely dinner.  So nice to finally meet Sharon, she is such a lovely person.

Thank you to my children for everything!  Your hospitality, your generous gifts, your love.

Thank you to Diane Beatrice for the sleep over and the wonderful brunch with the RHS girls.  Sooooooooooooooo much fun walking down memory lane with friends that I have not seen since 1962!!!!!!!!  It was a blast.

Thank you to my Everett girlfriends.  Enjoyed our lunch together.  Catching up is always fun.

Well, this afternoon......I will be heading home back to Florida!

I will have more time to play with this blogging thing.  I am enjoying it.  I promise to put an album together and send to everyone.

Love, Rose
