The Bailout

The risk-takers are the people who have made America what it is today. We are all in this together from CEOs to shareholders, from factory workers to farmers; we all have a stake in each other's success and we all suffer for the other's greed and mismanagement of large corporations

The GREED from some of these CEOs should be controlled. We the taxpayers should not have to bailout the huge corporations while the CEOs of those companies received bonuses in the millions........I say take the money from them and also put the bastards in jail!

What did I hear on the News last night? ....the mess our country is in….. is being called the "Economic Pearl Harbor"! Scary. We kept getting the warnings, this is worse than the Great Depression.

The bailout proposal is the most dramatic government intervention in the financial system since the Great Depression. Whether you are young or old...........we are all affected and we will all struggle through this horrible ordeal. We need a powerful antibiotic to remedy this pain!

This mess didn't happen overnight. It has been going on for years and no one has done a damn thing about it. It is called GREED! GREED denotes desire to accumulate wealth beyond the needs of the individual, especially when this huge accumulation of wealth denies others legitimate needs.

GREED is the selfish desire to acquire money, wealth, power, especially when this denies the same goods to others. In plain English.........we all got screwed! I want to know, how did we allow this to all happen? Why didn't someone stop these individuals? Why? Why? Why? Makes me sick!

This mess caused huge debt for so many people! Washington Mutual Bank bottomed out……..mutual funds tanked Blue Chip Stocks are tumbling. Frightening.

Hey, let's just print out those new green hundred dollar bills by the billions and billions....put the greedy CEOs in jail and call it a day!

I would love to see how these greedy people like their new four wall surroundings in jail!

I'm boiling mad..............are you????

Fall and Apple Pie!

Oh, how I miss the fall season in New England! The beautiful foliage, falling leaves, breathing in crisp, cool air.

Wish I were in New England in front of a bon fire in Vermont or Maine.

We Floridians don't experience change of seasons...just hot and hotter. The Newscaster announced a cold front coming in our area....I cracked up...Yeah, right it will drop to 88 degrees from 94....that's what they call a cold front down here.

Well, I'm sure my daughter will have her camera with her at all times to capture the beautiful foliage in Vermont.

Wow, I remember hand picking the apples and my mother baking pies and cooling them in the opened window sills. Can’t do that here in Florida!

While you guys up north are starting to put your heavy sweaters on to keep warm because your temperatures will start dropping in the evening soon. We are down here in Florida trying to keep cool. The air conditioner is on 24/7.

I guess you can tell I'm missing my roots! LOL

Do you have a change of seasons where you live?

Remember when?

Remember when the doctor used to be the family friend, and you didn't need insurance or a lawyer to defend? The way that he took care of you or what he had to do, because he took an oath and strived to do the best for you. And, made house calls!

Remember when going to the store and shopping casually....and when you went to pay for your purchase, you used your own money? Nothing that you had to swipe or punch in some amount....

Remember when the cashier person had to really count?

Remember when you saw the milkman going from door to door?

Remember when there was a time when just one glance was all that it would take and you would know the kind of car, model and make by it's unique style. They were streamlined, white walls, fins and really had some style. Now they all look the same.

Remember when the music you played was from a vinyl, big-holed record called a forty-five? The record player had a post to keep them all in line and then the records would drop down and play one at a time.

Remember when life seemed so much easier and slower in some ways? Don't get me wrong, I personally love the new technology but I sure miss some of those days. So, time moves on and so do we, and nothing stays the same. But I sure love to reminisce and walk down memory lane now and then.

Oh sure, we had our problems then, just like we do today and as always we were striving and trying for a better way. Oh, the simple life we lived still seems like so much fun. How can you explain a game, just kick the can and run?

Or playing Jacks!

Remember when!

Mirror, Mirror on the Wall!

We have all looked in the mirror and pulled our skin up and wonder what it would be like to have your 20-year old face back. I'd settle for my 50 year old face back and body too for that matter. I wish our society would make us feel better about getting older instead of glamorizing youth, which is a very short period of life.

People are trying to look airbrushed in daily life and that is not healthy. So, I decided that I'm content to expose my wrinkles, creases and every freckle and age spots. I'm a bit fearful of needles because I don't want to walk around with weird puffy lips or a stiff forehead. Not to mention the cost of these procedures every 3-4 months....Yikes! I know Botox is poison. It is best to just stay clear of all of them.

Oh, and the thoughts of a surgeon with that knife!!!!! Egad!

I'm fortunate to be using a skin product that does wonders for my very sensitive skin thanks to TC. So many products out on the store shelves that promise to nourish, replenish or renew aging skin and hair. At least some newer ads today are using real older women in their 50s and 60s who happily expose every wrinkle in their recent ad campaigns. Thanks for acknowledging us old bitties!

And, don't be fooled....many men have the same concerns about aging skin and they too want to look younger. Fortunately, for men….their gray hair is sexy and their wrinkles look distinguished. Oh, the trials and tribulations of being a woman! We would all be lying if we said we didn’t want to look younger. I for one.

I just had to write another entry to keep my mind off of the freaking three hurricanes out in the tropics heading towards Florida. One named, Ike is already a category four! Yikes! Time to sit down with Johnny Walker Red!!!!!!!!!!!
