Dealing with Retirement!

Most of my friends are finally retired now.  Some worked longer than others.

Retirement is filled with time, but it’s quickly being used up. There’s nothing you can do to stop it, but there’s a great deal you can do to make it count.  Sometimes people switch demographics, you have to deal with unpredictable economic markets and rising health care costs.

The wasted and idle moments in your life add up. If you always have something ready to do with them, they can add up to great value in your life.

I noticed that some people still procrastinate knowing that they have more time now. In fact, the limits on your time are really a blessing in disguise. Those limits motivate you to use your time in the ways that are most meaningful.

You are more aware of your health and try to take better care of yourself.  You will experience feeling lonely at times especially if you are a widow/widower and living away from your family.

It is important to surround yourself with people who make you happy.  People who make you laugh, who help you when you are in need.  People who would never take advantage of you.  People who genuinely care.  They are the ones worth keeping in your life.  Everyone else is just passing through.

Eat healthy, exercise and keep a good sense of humor.  Keep your family close.  Keep yourself busy.  Enjoy the beautiful sunsets.  I didn't say it would be easy!

  1. Good honest advice. Some can come only from experience. YES, wise use of our time is important, I catch myself 'procrastinating' and must say to myself:STOP IT, get it done, now, youare doing nothig else! Sometimes I actually listen to myself :-).
I'm always drawn to the yearly pictures of the Rose. Jan 2015 still looks good!

Love from us over here. We will head to NC next week to see the newest G-grand boy, Jude!

  2. I have enjoyed my retirement so far, so good. I'm so glad I do have the time now to do what I love to do. Some days I don't get it all done because it takes me longer to do things than it used to. It's been 5 years now for me and every moment has been worth while and fulfilling.

  4. I'm responding to your question about the I'm not a robot sign in my comments. It appeared there a few months ago, mysteriously. A lot of blogs had that happen and it turns out that you really don't have to type those letters in all you have to do is hit publish. You can get this by putting word verification on your blog and you find that under settings. I used to have it to cut spam but didn't put it there this time. Strange things happen in blogger land now and then. Ha!

    1. Thanks for responding back. I was seeing it on everyone's blogs whenever I left a comment and I don't see it on mine. Now, I at least have an answer. Thanks Again.
