New England is lovely when blanketed in winter white for the holidays. I did pray for a White Christmas but not a Nor'Easter! LOL A few days dipped into the single digits and something I'm not used to anymore.
Winter is a time to enjoy the invigorating freshness of a winter day, then sip hot chocolate in front of a fire. Rhonda had a bon fire going behind her house, I was not sipping on cocoa but wine or scotch was my preference. I didn't last long outdoors, as it was too cold for me even though I was bundled up.
I attended many holiday parties and had a blast! I especially enjoyed spending time with my children and family.
Enjoyed seeing my dear Revere classmate friends at a prearranged Italian luncheon at DeMaino's. Also, had the pleasure of being with my Everett friends for Chinese Food.
I always make sure I get in my Italian food, Chinese, and Seafood while in New England because it is not the same in South Florida.
The temps dipped as low as 9 degrees one day! Brrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr! Thank goodness my daughter has enough winter gear for me to borrow while I'm visiting.
Christmas and New Year's Day was wonderful and also my birthday!
Thommy and Lou also brightened my day with many goodies to take home!Winter is a time to enjoy the invigorating freshness of a winter day, then sip hot chocolate in front of a fire. I was spoiled rotten and loved every minute of it. I love my new Kindle Fire!
Happy New Year and Happy Birthday! I'm so glad you got to go home for Christmas. I know that there with your friends and family is where your heart lies. We had a few of those 9 degree mornings here too and I've been dreaming about sunshine and warmth! Those days won't be here for quite awhile for me, but it is always good to dream!
ReplyDeleteSo glad to get the GOOD report from home. My favorite song in my teen and adult years has always been "There is no Place Like Home for the Holidays" by Perry Como.
ReplyDeleteThere are no truer words. I bet it was beautiful in the snow. Friends and family sweeten the pot. Glad to hear the holiday cheers from the North East....
((((HUGS))))
Happy happy birthday to you!
ReplyDeleteSounds like you had a great holidays and birthday celebration with your family and friends. Plus all the different foods. That is a big jump from New England to Florida. sandie
So happy you had a great trip. FYI: Rhonda had a "bon" fire not a "bong" fire - that's a totally different thing. HAHAHAHA.... Love you! XO

ReplyDeleteI just changed it.....LOL I should have left it on there for Rhonda to see when she goes on her computer tomorrow from work! LOL
Great to hear you had a nice time. I'm not one who has a penchant for snow (other than the dry cold of Colorado or Northern California ski resorts), but I love to see all the winter pictures.

Great to hear you had a good time with your family. I can handle snow for a week or so (skiing) but after that, I'm heading back to warmth and sunshine....

Glad you made it back to NE for the holidays and had a great time with friends and family.
